The TAREKOM DESCENDAANTS Association international (TDA), is the pioneer Themne Association established internationally referred to as the non-profit charitable organization focused on assisting development in Sierra Leone. Also, TDA is a US-headquartered 501c3 non-profit charity organization registered in Sierra Leone, working to establish meaningful and sustainable development in Sierra Leone. The TDA International was born from the vision that human resource development is the key to improving nation-building capacity within the Themne people in Sierra Leone. We are excited and eagerly working towards a brighter future in Sierra Leone. Among other core interests of TDA is to strife for reduction of poverty, illiteracy and influence mobile optimization under the umbrella of patriotism, and democracy in Sierra Leone.

The TDA started on June 25, 2019 when Ahmed Kanu of Columbus, Ohio, a born of Koya Chiefdom in the Port Loko District of Sierra Leone, and a Public Administrator by profession reached out to a majority Themne Sierra Leoneans worldwide to create, support, conduct, and coordinate general interests of all Themne Sierra Leoneans. It can be eventually accomplished by promoting better understanding among Themnes and non-Themnes through educational, socio-economic, cultural activities and diversity programs.

The TDA International is the most trusted charitable Sierra Leone association to more than 3,000 individuals, families, and communities that have created unique funds and planned gifts to make a difference in the lives of others through the most effective philanthropy possible.

The TDA International is the largest Sierra Leonean charitable community association in Sierra Leone.  The TDA will continue to increase its socio-economic thrusts to serve as a charitable, technological service hub to assist in agriculture, education, health, and other human basic needs including clean water and energy for the Themnes, and will eventually reach out to non-Themnes.

The TDA is structured into three categories: International Executive, Branch Executive, and Chapter Executive levels. In compliance with the TDA Constitution, there is one elected International chairman for a term-limit of five years with twelve executive members. Every branch will have an elected chairman and an executive. At the chapter levels, each chapter will have an elected president and executive. At the end of every five years, the TDA will launch national conventions at the branches. The International Executives will oversee all affairs of the Association.  Branch Executives will co-govern the affairs of chapters in that branch. Chapter Executives will run the affairs in their chapters.
